Senior Auditor

Summary

Maher & Company PC is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to perform audit procedures in complex areas while building technical competence and functioning as the primary contact point for the audit client on a day to day basis during engagement performance.

Job Description:

• Execute and oversee the performance of audit engagement components with elevated risk
• Take responsibility for the quality and timeliness of high quality assurance engagements
• Demonstrating professional skepticism and independence in engagement performance
• Development of industry and client specific competencies
• Development of assurance staff members through mentoring and coaching
• Overseeing assurance engagements in compliance with Maher & Company risk management policies
• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by audit manager or stockholder

Primary Responsibilities:

• Foster and maintain productive working relationships with assurance clients
• Direct field work, manage staff performance and communicate with engagement management relative to engagement status and risks
• Perform or complete audit procedures and creation of documentation in respect to complex or higher risk areas of the engagement

Basic Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-3 years of public accounting experience OR a master’s degree in Accounting or related field with approximately 1-2 years of public accounting experience
• A Certified Public Accounting license issued by U.S. state or sufficient coursework to achieve such certification and licensure in the State of Missouri

• Experience in planning, execution and supervision of engagements to perform audits and reviews in accordance with GAAS and SSARS of financials statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
