Tax Accountant

Summary

Maher & Company PC is seeking a Tax Accountant to help support a diverse client base.

Job Description:

• Preparation of federal corporate (C and S) and partnership returns.
• Preparation of various levels of individual returns.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries for tax purposes.
• Identify book/tax differences.
• Research technical issues using online tools.
• Resolve minor issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities.
• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously (multi-task).

 Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 year tax experience in public accounting.
• Ability to understand, apply policies from tax quality control documents.
• Understanding of IRS practice and procedure and tax law.
• Proficiency with personal computers including spreadsheet software programs. Experience with ProSystem fx, CCH, RIA, is a plus but not required.
